Document: grant, "by the Dean and Canons of the King's Free Chapel of St. George within the Castle of Windsor to William Chiffinch, [1602?-88] of Whitehall, giving him license to assign to Elenor Gwinne [Eleanor Gwyn, 1650-87], the tenement, garden and orchard of 2 acres in the parish of New Windsor, called the Old Hawes, which was granted to William Chiffinch by Indenture of 21 April 1675, but then stipulated not to be demised." Includes: list of book by Robert Barker (d. 1645); letter to William Parker, 4th Baron Monteagle (1575-1622) which exposed gunpowder plot; report by Sir John Denham (1559-1639); petition from Thomas Foxe to the Earl of Rutland; letters of Tobias Matthew (1546-1628); various items relating to John Browne, and many other items.
